Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – Three unknown young girls are said to have been involved in an arson in a Freiburg retirement home. As the police announced on Thursday, the girls are said to have put a burning object between a half-closed shutter and the window pane of an apartment on the ground floor of the residential complex on Tuesday afternoon. The resident of the apartment discovered the fire and was able to put it out himself.
The alleged perpetrators, aged between 13 and 16, fled through a nearby playground when they saw the resident. It was initially unclear whether other unknown persons were involved in the arson.
