Munich (dpa / lby) – Interim coach Günther Gorenzel will in all probability also be in the game at Hallesches FC on the sidelines of TSV 1860 Munich. “As of now, yes,” the Austrian replied to a question at the press conference on Wednesday. Gorenzel does not expect to be able to present a successor to Michael Köllner before the away game in the 3rd soccer league on Friday (7 p.m. / Magenta Sport).
“It’s the case that I’ve made several suggestions over the past few weeks. I’ve known the final criteria for two hours now,” said Gorenzel, without giving any details. Based on these criteria, he is now trying to find the best possible solution as soon as possible.
It doesn’t matter who takes a seat on the Munich coach’s bench, the rise seems to be almost impossible to achieve. Before the 24th match day, the gap to the relegation place is ten points. Under Gorenzel, the “lions” have only scored one of nine possible points. “The current situation can only be tackled collectively,” said Gorenzel, who is also the managing director of the Munich company.
The six-year-olds have only celebrated one win in the league since October. “It’s about reminding the boys of their strengths and quality. If you think it can only be solved through play, then that’s the wrong advice,” said Gorenzel. Every player has to be ready to fight for every millimeter.
