Nuremberg (dpa / lby) – A 78-year-old drove two kilometers through a construction site on the A3 on Wednesday night. As the police headquarters in Middle Franconia wrote on Twitter, the journey ended around 3 a.m. in a pile of gravel. The driver was slightly injured.

The construction site near the Steigerwald Süd rest area in Middle Franconia was cordoned off with traffic signs, a solid line and pylons, said a police spokesman. For an unknown reason, the 78-year-old overlooked this.

It went well for two kilometers – then she drove onto the pile of gravel. The fire brigade had to free the woman from the car, as a precaution she was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The car suffered damage of 20,000 euros.
