Weiden in der Opferpfalz (dpa/lby) – On the way back from the hairdresser’s, an 87-year-old woman got lost in her electric wheelchair on the Autobahn in the Upper Palatinate. Two attentive drivers were able to stop the woman at Weiden just in time at the end of the acceleration lane, the police said on Wednesday. With a maximum speed of 6 kilometers per hour, wheelchairs are not allowed on the Autobahn.
The two drivers stayed with the elderly lady until the police arrived. According to her own statements, she then brought the woman home to her son unharmed. On the way home from the hairdresser, the woman lost her bearings for a short time and ended up on the A93.
