Regensburg (dpa / lby) – The A3 near Regensburg will be partially blocked at the weekend. The full closure should last from Saturday at 8:30 p.m. to Sunday at 4 p.m., the police said on Friday. In the direction of Passau, the section between the Rosenhof and Wörth junctions is affected. In the direction of Nuremberg, the route between the Rosenhof and Neutraubling junctions will be closed.

The detour will take place via federal highway 8 and state highway 2146, or via state highway 2660. According to the police, drivers should allow up to 15 minutes more travel time. The reason for the closure is that a makeshift scaffolding for a new bridge is being demolished.

The A3 near Regensburg will be expanded from four to six lanes. The construction work on the approximately 15-kilometer route is expected to take a total of six years. According to the responsible Autobahn GmbH, 16 bridges will be newly built or widened.

The “Bayerischer Rundfunk” previously reported on the current blocking. The next time the A3 near Regensburg will be closed on October 22nd and 23rd.
