Send (dpa / lby) – Due to health problems, a 36-year-old driver in the Swabian town of Sending caused two accidents in quick succession – and suffered serious injuries herself. Fortunately, the other people involved in the accident were not injured, the police said on Wednesday evening.
The woman initially drove into a car driving in front of her. They wanted to exchange personal details and initially stopped, it said. However, her physical condition most likely deteriorated so much that she then drove on – and crashed into a pickup truck. The 36-year-old’s car was thrown into oncoming traffic and hit by an oncoming car. Several helpers had to put the tipped car back up in order to be able to provide first aid, the police said.
The 36-year-old was taken to hospital by ambulance. The property damage that arose in the second accident is estimated at around 90,000 euros, it said. The connecting road between Sending and Aufheim (Neu-Ulm district) was completely closed for around two hours.
