Püchersreuth (dpa / lby) – Unknown persons stole objects worth more than 150,000 euros in a solar park in the Püchersreuth district of Pfaffenreuth (Neustadt an der Waldnaab district). As the police announced on Friday, the thieves gained access to the site during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday and initially stole various items from a locked construction container. The operator of the solar park has not yet quantified the damage caused.

The burglars also removed 29 inverters that had been prepared on site for installation on the solar modules. The value of this booty is said to be around 150,000 euros. An inverter is an electrical device that converts DC voltage to AC voltage.

At the beginning of the week, thieves stole more than 100 solar modules from a solar park in Tännesberg in the same district, the police announced on Wednesday. The value of the stolen items was therefore around 18,000 euros. In Vohenstrauss, around twelve kilometers away, the perpetrators had also laid out modules in a local solar park for transport, but they were not stolen after all. The crimes are believed to have happened between Sunday and Tuesday.

It was not initially known whether there was a connection between the two thefts.
