Augsburg (dpa / lby) – FC Augsburg is “super prepared” for its first Bundesliga game of the season against SC Freiburg. “I feel a healthy tension. I’m excited for the first game and I’m hoping for a full stadium,” said FCA coach Enrico Maaßen before the home game on Saturday (3.30 p.m.). “When we are fully on the air, it will also be difficult for Freiburg. We are all very positive.”
In the game against the Europa League starter, FCA will also see Michael Gregoritsch (28) again. The Austrian switched to the Breisgauers in July, and Ermedin Demirovic (24) came in return. “He’s a fantastic player, a very intelligent player,” Maassen praised the former Augsburg player Gregoritsch.
Maassen was able to report positive news from the long-term injured offensive man Ruben Vargas. “Ruben trained parts with the team today.” Defender Reece Oxford, on the other hand, had an up and down. “And Niklas Dorsch is still five to six weeks away,” said the FCA coach.
