Munich (dpa/lby) – The Ukrainian non-governmental organization “Mnemonics” received the prize from the Munich Documentation Center for the History of National Socialism for its contribution to dealing with the Holocaust in Ukraine. The award, which is worth 8,000 euros, is given for publications and projects to clarify National Socialism, according to a statement from the city on Thursday. The civil society initiative had “given important impetus to coming to terms with National Socialist crimes in Ukraine under difficult conditions.” Her projects include artistic installations, educational offers for schoolchildren and the laying of stumbling blocks. The award will be presented on November 15th.
