Thalmässing (dpa / lby) – After the plane crash with one dead in Central Franconia, the police suspect bad weather as a possible cause. A police spokesman said on Monday that the wings of the small plane were probably torn off while still in the air. When the rescue system was triggered, the parachute, which was supposed to slow down the fall of the machine, was also damaged.

The 53-year-old pilot from Munich died in the crash more than a week ago (September 10) near Thalmässing-Waizenhofen (Roth district). He started alone in Upper Bavaria and wanted to go to Lower Franconia, as it was called. A passer-by saw the accident and called 911. When the emergency services arrived, the pilot was already dead. The officials found aircraft parts within a radius of almost a kilometer of the impact site.
