Bamberg (dpa/lby) – Numerous international guest performances characterize the new season of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra will tour Spain and Asia, as well as perform at the Vatican. The 2022/23 season will be under the motto “Creation”, said director Marcus Rudolf Axt on Tuesday: “We touch on the subject of creation from a different perspective every evening.”
The orchestra kicks off the season with a performance at the beginning of September at the Rheingau Music Festival. Other guest performance venues include the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie and the Wiener Musikverein.
The symphonic musicians have also made sustainability plans for the coming season when planning trips: “For trips in Central Europe, we have decided to travel exclusively by train. If we have to fly, it should be direct flights. We want to compensate for the emissions with projects that make a lasting difference in the target country,” said Axt.
