Munich (dpa / lby) – BRK President Angelika Schorer has called for a new corona test strategy. “The test regulation urgently needs to be put to the test, the offer has to be ramped up and the hurdles removed in order to be well prepared for the fall,” said the head of the Bavarian Red Cross of the media group “Münchner Merkur/tz” (Monday edition). “Our test centers cannot expand their offer overnight. We also have to discuss whether the tests are necessary again in more areas.”

Schorer, who sits in the Bavarian state parliament for the CSU, was “particularly disappointed by the federal government (…)”. The situation in the nursing homes and in the emergency services is as tense as ever. “A lot of staff are absent due to Corona, duty rosters have to be constantly changed, free beds can no longer be occupied because there is a lack of staff. Ambulances have to transport emergency patients long distances because many hospitals have signed off. The calls for help have been loud for weeks – but they are not heard enough,” said Schorer.
