Munich (dpa / lby) – A catenary damage paralyzed the S-Bahn traffic on the Munich main route on Tuesday night. The police said on Tuesday that a torn catenary cable from the overhead line fell on an S-Bahn train near Ostbahnhof late Monday evening. The train with around 400 passengers therefore came to a standstill shortly before the Ostbahnhof, and nobody was injured. Fire and smoldering damage occurred on the S-Bahn.

According to the information, no S-Bahn trains ran on the main route for about an hour, after which only parts of the route were accessible. The police therefore led many Wiesn returnees on foot from the Hackerbrücke stop to the main station. It took until early Tuesday morning to repair the damage. The route was only fully released again around seven o’clock.
