Strullendorf (dpa / lby) – A suspected car thief who was under the influence of alcohol went to sleep in a retirement home in Upper Franconia. He had previously crashed a car into a lamppost, the police said on Wednesday, citing a witness. Officials finally discovered the 30-year-old sleeping in the home in Strullendorf near Bamberg.
After waking up the man, it turned out, according to the police, that he could have stolen the car on Wednesday night – from his former boss, who had previously parked the vehicle unlocked in his yard. To make matters worse, the man did not have a driver’s license.
