Schönau am Königssee (dpa / lby) – After the alleged arson in a holiday parking lot at Königssee, the police are looking for the perpetrators. And she contacted the police on the North Sea island of Borkum, where cars recently burned. Seven vehicles were damaged by the flames in Schönau am Königssee on Saturday. A police spokeswoman said on Monday that there was no evidence of a specific pattern in the selection of the cars. The license plates are from Bavaria, Austria and the Czech Republic.
The investigators do not currently see a connection with the burning cars in Borkum, said the police spokeswoman. Two weeks ago, 13 vehicles were damaged in a holiday park, seven of them destroyed. Here, too, the police assume arson. “A connection would still be pure speculation, but we will still contact our colleagues in Borkum.”
The Königssee car park is located directly on the lake shore and is the starting point for day and multi-day hikes in the popular Upper Bavarian holiday region. According to the police, the extensive site was very crowded at the weekend because of the Almer pilgrimage.
