Munich/Berlin (dpa/lby) – The corona numbers in Bavaria are continuing to decline, but are falling more slowly. On Friday morning, the Robert Koch Institute reported an incidence of 180.4 for the Free State. That’s a 13 percent drop from Friday last week. Within two weeks it is more than a halving.
In the last few days there had been fluctuations in the incidence values ??for Bavaria reported by the RKI. However, the public holiday last week may have played a major role in this. In the current figures, a major influence can no longer be assumed.
However, experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI – mainly because by far not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
There is also a downward trend in the Bavarian hospitals, although it is losing momentum. The State Office for Health and Food Safety reported 956 hospitalized cases with or because of Corona within seven days in Bavaria, 12 percent fewer than a week ago. The occupancy of beds with Covid patients in the intensive care units also fell. As of Thursday, it was 183 people, a drop of 17.6 percent.
In the meantime, more intensive care units are reporting regular than restricted operation. As of Thursday, the ratio reported by the intensive care register was 69 to 68. Another 39 reported partially restricted operations. Three weeks ago, more than 90 intensive care units had reported restricted and fewer than 50 regular operations.
