Munich (dpa / lby) – In view of the rising energy prices, almost two thirds of Bavarian landlords and hoteliers fear for their existence. The situation and mood had deteriorated dramatically, said the industry association Dehoga on Thursday after a survey among its members. In August, almost 37 percent of the 577 companies surveyed feared having to go out of business. In September it was 65.3 percent.
According to the survey, more than half of the hotels, restaurants and inns expect losses in the coming year. So far, the companies surveyed have increased their spending on electricity and gas by almost half. For January, companies calculate that prices will be more than twice as high. Association President Angela Inselkammer called for the federal government to speed up the relief.
