Obernburg am Main (dpa / lby) – The insult allegations against Lower Franconia’s District President Erwin Dotzel (CSU) are still occupying the judiciary. The public prosecutor would like to see him sentenced further and has appealed against an acquittal that took place last week, as a spokesman for the district court in Obernburg am Main (Miltenberg district) announced on Friday on request. The public prosecutor’s office accuses Dotzel of having described a fellow party member as a “right louse” in a group chat of the CSU local branch in Wörth am Main last September. The district court of Aschaffenburg must now decide on the appeal.
Dotzel also has to answer under civil law. In a civil lawsuit in July, the regional court in Aschaffenburg ordered him to pay 750 euros in compensation to the alleged victim. However, both sides have appealed. Now the Higher Regional Court of Bamberg has to deal with the case.
