Taching am See (dpa / lby) – After an egg was thrown at Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) in Upper Bavaria, the police are investigating a 44-year-old. The two eggs missed the politician during a speech at a fire brigade festival in Taching am See, a police spokesman said on Saturday. Around 1,500 people were in the marquee in the Tengling district on Thursday. There were expressions of displeasure from a table during Söder’s performance.
Security guards expelled two people from the tent, as several media had previously reported, including the “Traunsteiner Tagblatt” and the “Passauer Neue Presse”. A photo published there shows how security staff protect the prime minister after the attack in the Traunstein district with transparent umbrellas from possible other flying objects. The criminal police are now investigating the 44-year-old from the northern district on suspicion of attempted bodily harm.
