Munich (dpa/lby) – Bavaria’s Finance Minister Albert Füracker (CSU) announced tax breaks on Thursday in view of the high energy costs. Companies and private individuals that are particularly affected by the energy crisis should be able to apply for a tax payment deferral. “The Bavarian tax authorities will take this special situation into account appropriately and act with a sense of proportion when it comes to inquiries about deferrals or the reduction of advance payments,” he said in Munich. Deferrals, the reduction of income tax or corporation tax advance payments and a postponement of enforcement are possible. The Federal Ministry of Finance had previously called for the less strict requirements for such applications. They are to apply until March 31, 2023.
