Ingolstadt (dpa / lby) – ERC Ingolstadt has signed ice hockey professional Stefan Matteau. As the club from the German Ice Hockey League announced on Thursday, the 28-year-old will come to Upper Bavaria until the end of the season. He is expected at his new club on Monday. “I think it was worth it that we showed patience,” said ERC sports director Tim Regan. “He can play as a center, but can also be used on the wing and also fits very well into our team in terms of character.”
The Ingolstadt team is in the top group in the DEL. Most recently they had to mourn the injuries of strikers Brian Gibbons and Justin Feser. Matteau brings experience from the North American professional league NHL. He comes to Ingolstadt from the Swedish club Linköping HC.
