Oberstdorf (dpa / lby) – A water tap in a mountain hut in Oberstdorf was probably turned on for around two months without anyone noticing. Around 6,000 cubic meters of water ran out of the tap during this time, the police said on Wednesday. This resulted in around 10,500 euros in water costs. The water flowed down a slope and softened it.
It is not yet known who turned on the faucet in the building. The faucet is on the outside and freely accessible, it said. The owner noticed the running water on Tuesday, police said. He last checked the building about two months ago.
