Arrach (dpa / lby) – A farmer from the Upper Palatinate seriously injured a fawn while mowing. A resident discovered the animal in Arrach (Cham district). She then dialed the emergency number, said a police spokesman on Tuesday. Because the fawn was so badly injured, it was rescued by a hunter on Monday.

Other fawns were not injured. Since the farmer apparently did not search the meadow, a violation of the Animal Welfare Act is now being investigated.
