Munich (dpa / lby) – A garbage compactor caught fire at the Bauma trade fair in Munich. The emergency services of the stationary fire station were able to extinguish the fire quickly and without major damage on Friday, as the Munich fire department announced. There was no danger for the visitors and the fair could continue without major interruption.
Up to 150,000 visitors come to the world’s largest trade fair for construction machines, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles and construction equipment. In order to be able to react quickly in an emergency, the Munich fire brigade had set up a stationary fire station on the exhibition grounds and employees from the preventive fire protection department of the Munich fire department inspect the exhibition grounds on a daily basis.
