Marklkofen (dpa / lby) – After two arson attacks on a tent for Ukraine refugees in Lower Bavaria in just 24 hours, an investigative group from the police should catch the perpetrators. According to the investigators, it is conceivable that the fire was set due to right-wing extremist sentiment in the still empty tent accommodation in Marklkofen (Dingolfing-Landau district).
The fires caused property damage of several 1000 euros each on Wednesday and Thursday night, no one was injured. “For me, the acts are above all an attack on humanity,” said District Administrator Werner Bumeder (CSU).
The Bavarian central office for combating extremism and terrorism, which is based at the Munich public prosecutor’s office, took over the investigation from the Landshut public prosecutor’s office on Thursday. An investigation group had been set up at the Landshut police station, the police and the public prosecutor’s office reported.
