Aschaffenburg (dpa / lby) – A scooter driver died in a collision with a van in Lower Franconia. The 48-year-old driver of the van got into the oncoming lane for unknown reasons and collided with the scooter, police said on Monday. The 52-year-old fell off the scooter in the accident on Monday and sustained life-threatening injuries.

Rescue service and emergency doctor found the man dead at the accident site in Aschaffenburg. The 48-year-old suffered a shock and was treated on site. According to the police, there are indications that he was driving under the influence of alcohol. Officials blocked state highway 2309 in both directions.
