Berchtesgaden (dpa / lby) – A 64-year-old mountain hiker crashed in the Berchtesgaden Alps and was rescued by helicopter with serious injuries. As the mountain rescue service announced on Monday, the evening before, the local had slipped from a climb in the Lattengebirge eight meters over a steep slope onto the rocky shore of the Speikschlucht. The man’s companion provided first aid. The mountain rescue service then requested a helicopter because of the injuries. “Christophorus 6” from Salzburg brought an emergency doctor and paramedic to the Speik with a rope and flew the injured person in an air rescue bag to a sports field. There he was transferred to the helicopter and flown to the Salzburg State Hospital.
