Schwabach (dpa / lby) – 1.5 tons of copper cables were stolen from Friday to Monday in Schwabach, in central Franconia. As the police announced on Tuesday, the cables were stored in a junkyard in an industrial area. The perpetrators are on the run. The Schwabacher criminal police took up the investigation and is hoping for information from the population.
Theft of copper cables was a big problem in Bavaria last year. Despite the current case, according to the police in Middle Franconia, this is no longer the case. Copper thefts happen again and again. But this is a normal “background noise”. A spokesman for the LKA Bavaria made a similar statement. Compared to the previous year, one could observe a decrease in copper thefts in the Free State.
