Munich (dpa / lby) – In a room fire in Munich, a 55-year-old caregiver helped a man out of his apartment and slightly injured herself. According to initial findings, an oxygen bottle caught fire in a room where the 54-year-old was also, for reasons that were initially unclear. The police announced this on Monday. Because of his health, the man, who also suffered minor injuries, was unable to leave the room on his own, a spokesman said. Alarmed by the smoke detector, his supervisor, who was also in the apartment, took him outside.

Rescue workers took care of the two injured and drove the 54-year-old to the hospital. The fire was extinguished before the flames spread to other apartments, the Munich fire department said. According to initial estimates, the damage is in the tens of thousands of euros.
