Munich (dpa / lby) – At the start of the carnival holidays, there were interim reports for Bavarian schoolchildren on Friday. Minister of Education Michael Piazolo (Free Voters) advises parents and children not to overestimate the grades. “Grades are far from everything in life and the interim report, as the name suggests, is only an interim result,” he said.

The Bavarian Parents’ Association (BEV) made a similar statement. “Parents often attach too much significance to grades,” said state chairman Martin Löwe. Therefore, parents should remain relaxed in any case.

Not all of the approximately 1.6 million students received a certificate that day. Instead, many schools hold learning development talks or distribute information about grades, usually in December and April.
