Augsburg (dpa / lby) – Stanley Cup winner Nico Sturm comes to Augsburg. The 27-year-old ice hockey striker will receive a reception in his home town on Saturday (from 1 p.m.). First, the San Jose Sharks attacker signs the city’s Golden Book at City Hall. Sturm will then meet in the Curt Frenzel Stadium for a chat with the Augsburg Panther youth teams. At around 3 p.m. he is supposed to present the Stanley Cup on the ice.
Sturm became champions in the North American professional league NHL with Colorado Avalanche at the end of June. He is only the fifth German to have done so. After that, Sturm moved to the San Jose Sharks.
