Regensburg (dpa/lby) – SSV Jahn Regensburg is ready for new challenges in the 2nd Bundesliga after the hearty 0: 6 swatter against Karlsruhe. “Chest out and let’s move on. Show character. Hiding doesn’t count,” said Jahn coach Mersad Selimbegovic before the away game at Fortuna Düsseldorf on Friday (6.30 p.m.) and announced: “We want to make amends. We want to present ourselves differently”.
The task shouldn’t get any easier against the ambitious Düsseldorf team. “This is a team that plays very attractive and good football, very offensively,” said the football coach and warned of the individual quality in the team. “If you show weaknesses in such a stadium, you can quickly get under the wheels.” The Upper Palatinate are currently in 13th place in the table, six places behind Düsseldorf.
Regensburg’s recently injured newcomer Lasse Günther is about to play for the first time in the Jahn jersey. “He’s training with everything now. I hope he reacts well to the stress,” said Selimbegovic.
