Fürth (dpa / lby) – The construction of new residential buildings in Bavaria has become more expensive by 16 percent within a year. As the State Statistical Office announced on Monday in Fürth, carpentry and timber construction work was only 2 percent more expensive in August than a year ago. But roofing and waterproofing work cost 20 percent more, and metalwork and drywall work rose 23 percent. Insulation and fire protection work on technical systems even became more expensive by 37 percent. “There were no price cuts,” said the State Statistical Office.
