Herzogenaurach/Regensburg (dpa/lby) – The family holding company of the Franconian entrepreneurial family Schaeffler has increased its stake in the Regensburg automotive supplier Vitesco. The Schaeffler family with company matriarch Maria-Elisabeth Schaeffler and her son Georg Friedrich Wilhelm now holds 49.99 percent of the shares, as the IHO Holding announced on Monday. The Regensburg-based supplier had recently drawn attention to itself with plans to dismantle its German plants. In Nuremberg, 800 of the 1160 jobs are to be lost in the next few years.
The main entrepreneurial activities of the Schaeffler family are bundled in the family holding company IHO. In addition to the shares in Vitesco, IHO also holds 75 percent of the Schaeffler shares and 46 percent of the sister company Conti.
