Munich (dpa / lby) – In some parts of Bavaria it snowed at the weekend. From Lower Franconia to Lower Bavaria there was widespread snowfall – sometimes heavy, as a meteorologist from the German Weather Service (DWD) said on Saturday. The snow only stays for a short time: the ground is still too warm for it.

Even on Sunday night, the DWD expects snow and temperatures around zero to minus nine degrees Celsius. Then the snow turns to rain. With the rising temperatures, this moves more and more to higher altitudes. Monday night was then frost-free in most parts of Bavaria.
