Bessenbach (dpa / lby) – A 73-year-old who is said to have killed a woman in Bessenbach, Lower Franconia, has been admitted to a psychiatric ward. This was announced by the public prosecutor’s office in Aschaffenburg and the police on Tuesday. The man was temporarily housed last Thursday by the Aschaffenburg District Court. He is said to have fatally injured the 61-year-old in his apartment at the end of June with massive violence.
Witnesses who became aware of the woman’s calls for help met the 61-year-old outside the apartment and provided first aid. But she died a little later in the hospital. The man allowed himself to be arrested without resistance and was shortly afterwards taken into custody. The two were related to each other, according to prosecutors. The prosecution did not provide any further information with reference to the ongoing investigations on Tuesday.
