Teisendorf (dpa / lby) – A man who is said to have broken into a house in Upper Bavaria has been caught – eight years after the fact. International police cooperation led to the arrest of the perpetrator, officials said on Tuesday. There is an international arrest warrant against him.

The perpetrator, who was still unknown at the time, is said to have stolen a low four-digit sum of cash from a house in Teisendorf (Berchtesgadener Land district) in May 2014. The resident was injured in a physical altercation with the stranger. The man was also wanted in Austria for burglaries.

According to the information, DNA traces helped to identify the perpetrator. According to the police, he was arrested on entering Bulgaria and extradited to Austria. The man is in custody there.
