Regensburg (dpa / lby) – Under the motto “This is how Bavaria sounds”, the Bavarian State Exhibition is to take place in 2026 in Freyung, Lower Bavaria. According to the announcement, the leading house of Bavarian history and the city of Freyung in Regensburg agreed on this on Monday. The so-called Pröbstl house in the Lower Bavarian town is to be the exhibition venue. This is currently being renovated. After the end of the state exhibition, which is planned from May to November 2026, a science center on the topics of sound, sound, music and hearing is to move into the building.
From the point of view of Olaf Heinrich, Mayor of Freyung and District President of Lower Bavaria, the state exhibition on the subject of music is ideally located in the city. After all, Freyung has made a name for itself in recent years with the Folk Music Academy, among other things. Art Minister Markus Blume (CSU) said: Music in Bavaria can do everything – from yodeling and brass bands to world-class orchestras, successful pop and rock bands to the tradition of amateur music.
