Kiefersfelden (dpa / lby) – A fire in a truck on the Autobahn 93 near Kiefersfelden (Rosenheim district) caused property damage of around 100,000 euros. The highway had to be completely closed for several hours, then partially, as the police announced on Wednesday night. The driver had brought the truck with trailer to a standstill on Tuesday evening due to a technical defect on the hard shoulder, where the vehicle then burned down.

The motorway initially had to be completely closed for about one and a half hours in the direction of Austria for the extinguishing work, later partially for another three hours during the rescue work. In the opposite direction, the left lane was temporarily blocked due to the heavy smoke. In addition to the truck, the roadway and a noise barrier were also damaged. The driver was not injured.
