Lappersdorf (dpa / lby) – A truck went off the road on the A93 near Lappersdorf (Regensburg district) and overturned. The 60-year-old driver was injured in the fall early Wednesday morning and was initially treated in a hospital, police said. The diesel tank in the truck ruptured, leaking fuel.

According to the first findings of the police, the loaded truck first drove into the central barrier in a right-hand bend and then left the road to the right for reasons that are not yet known. There he broke through the safety barrier of a parking lot and fell down an embankment, where the trailer ended up lying on the roof. The total damage incurred is around 100,000 euros. The freeway was initially only one-lane passable.
