Hammelburg (dpa / lby) – Two boys aged 11 and 14 scratched more than 20 cars in Lower Franconia. The damage is tens of thousands of euros, as the police announced on Wednesday. Investigators found a conspicuous shoe print on one of the vehicles scratched in Hammelburg on Friday night.
When police dealt with an argument between an 11-year-old and a 14-year-old on Sunday evening, an officer noticed that the older of the two was also wearing such a conspicuous shoe. The distinctive imprint matched the secured track on the damaged car.
In the presence of their parents, the boys reportedly admitted the crimes. The police are now investigating whether both are also responsible for a fire alarm at the Hammelburg sports center and the unauthorized use of a scooter.
