Hof (dpa/lby) – Two men were caught on a train in Upper Franconia with 130 firecrackers and weapons that are banned in Germany. In addition to the illegal firecrackers, investigators found six spring and butterfly knives, five brass knuckles and a stun gun on the duo in Hof, the police said on Monday. “They certainly bought it in the Czech Republic,” said a police spokesman.
The two men, aged 20 and 31, were reported after the check on Sunday for violations of the explosives and weapons law. In addition, the duo from the Hessian district of Marburg-Biedenkopf has to pay the costs for destroying the fireworks.
