Kitzingen (dpa / lby) – A man who had been wanted by the police for months offered massive resistance when he was arrested in Kitzingen. A civil officer recognized the 51-year-old in the parking lot of a hardware store, as the police headquarters in Lower Franconia and the public prosecutor’s office in Würzburg announced on Tuesday. However, during his preliminary arrest, the man ignored the police officer’s instructions and started his car, hitting the officer with the open driver’s door and also beating him.

The man then fled on foot to the construction yard, where he was stopped by the plainclothes police officer and witnesses and then arrested by uniformed police officers who arrived. The man repeatedly put up considerable resistance and continually insulted the police officers, according to Monday’s incident. In addition, his car was not street legal and the man had marijuana on him. The 51-year-old, who is accused of several crimes and apparently has no permanent residence, was taken into custody.
