Eggenfelden (dpa / lby) – A 16-year-old slightly injured three police officers during a traffic check in Lower Bavaria. As the police announced on Saturday, the moped driver had tried to flee from the police on Friday evening in Eggenfelden (Rottal-Inn district) because he had drugs with him and, according to his own statements, was driving the moped under the influence of drugs. He also did not have a driver’s license for the vehicle, according to police.

The police wanted to check the 16-year-old on Friday evening because he was driving his moped without a light. After he had twice tried in vain to flee from the officers, the 16-year-old attacked the officers. The police officers then had to use physical force to tie him up, according to the statement. He spat in the face of a police officer. When they finally checked the youth, the officers found the drugs on him. Police did not say what drugs were involved.

During the further police measures, the moped driver resisted the officers again, insulted and threatened them. Overall, the youth slightly injured three police officers. He now faces charges including assaulting police officers, possession of narcotics, driving without a license and driving under the influence.
