Police officers investigated the scene of the accident on Tuesday. A police spokesman said that carbon monoxide was probably released in the house after a leak in a drain. The reason for the escape of the odorless and toxic gas initially remained unclear. So far, no specific persons have been investigated in this context. The 68-year-old was found dead in his home in Regensburg on Monday.
