Munich (dpa / lby) – FC Bayern Munich wants to regain the top of the table in the Bundesliga with the returnee Manuel Neuer. Coach Julian Nagelsmann has scheduled the national goalkeeper for the away game against Hertha BSC on Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky). The 36-year-old Neuer had to sit out Bayern Munich’s last seven competitive games due to a painful shoulder injury. If the shoulder doesn’t cause any problems, Neuer will be back in goal in Berlin, Nagelsmann announced.
Before the start of the last week of the Bundesliga, Bayern are one point behind surprise leaders Union Berlin, who only visit Leverkusen on Sunday, with three games left before the World Cup in Qatar.
FC Augsburg receives Champions League round of 16 Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday (3.30 p.m.). Enrico Maassen’s team wants to get out of their low after four games without a win. The first-choice goalkeeper is also back at Augsburg after an injury: Rafal Gikiewicz is scheduled to start after a break due to a thigh injury.
