Fürth (dpa / lby) – Second division soccer club SpVgg Greuther Fürth has started preparations after the winter break with an almost complete squad. Only the long-term injured Robin Kehr was missing coach Alexander Zorniger on Monday. “All the players are fit, you rarely experience that as a coach. That’s positive,” said Zorniger. For the first time in the new year, he let his players train on the pitch for almost 75 minutes.

“The top priority now is to develop what we started last year. We want to become relatively stable in the way we play,” explained Zorniger. Under the successor of the Swiss Marc Schneider, the Franconians got ten points from four games at the end of the first half of the season.

On Wednesday, the Fürth team will be heading to the training camp in Belek (Turkey), where they will be preparing until January 12th. The Franconians start the second half of the season on January 28th at Holstein Kiel.
