Munich (dpa / lby) – Marcel Bär from TSV 1860 Munich has had an operation after his foot injury from the DFB Cup game against Borussia Dortmund. The intervention took place on Monday, as the “lion” announced a day later. In the meantime, the top scorer of the last third division season has left the hospital again. Bär injured his foot early in the game on Friday evening in the 0: 3 of the sixties in the first round of the cup against BVB.
“I hope to be back on the pitch and scoring goals for 1860 Munich as soon as possible. I have every confidence in the team that they will represent me well and continue on the path I started in Dresden (4-3),” said the 30-year-old centre-forward.
Bär will be missing from Munich on their promotion mission “for a long time”. Exactly how long is unclear. “A clear schedule for the rehabilitation and the subsequent gradual return of Marcel Bär to team training was set in consultation with the treating doctors,” the club announced on Tuesday.
