Würzburg (dpa / lby) – A man first slipped drugs into a 19-year-old in Würzburg and then threatened him. The 35-year-old was in custody after the incident, police and prosecutors said on Thursday. He is said to have given the 19-year-old a drug package as a thank you on Tuesday after he had offered him a mask for the tram ride. The 19-year-old knew nothing about the content. The man later demanded money, threatened him and probably held a knife in his hand.
When several passengers got involved, the 35-year-old pushed the young man out of the tram. After a brief physical altercation, he fled. Thanks to a witness description, the police arrested the 35-year-old a little later. He has been in custody since Wednesday on suspicion of threats and attempted extortion.
