Nuremberg (dpa / lby) – The soccer players of 1. FC Nuremberg have messed up their premiere in the large Max Morlock Stadium. The Franconian second division team lost their round of 16 in the DFB Cup against Bundesliga leaders VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday 0:6 (0:3). Twice Jill Roord (32nd minute, 41st), Ewa Pajor (44th), Sveindis Jonsdottir (80th) and Pauline Bremer (90th) scored for the defending champions in front of a record crowd of 17,302 spectators in Nuremberg. The hosts also scored an own goal (75′). Already on Saturday, the women of FC Bayern Munich had reached the round of the last eight with a 7-0 win at MSV Duisburg.
